Academy Bus is now providing charter service in the New England area. With the recent acquisition of Archway Bus, a leading transportation company located in Rhode Island, plus the opening of a new bus terminal in Bridgeport, Connecticut, high quality motor coach transportation is available anywhere in the Northeast.  Possessing over 600 of the most modern and safest luxury coaches available Academy Bus can offer the right equipment for any event. 

Archway Bus, the company purchased by Academy in Rhode Island, is the latest transportation venture by Stephen Archambault.  Former president of Pawtuxet Valley Bus Lines, the family owned and operated predecessor company to Archway, Archambault is an industry veteran for over 30 years.  At its peak, Pawtuxet operated over 40 vehicles and employed more then 50 people.  Between 1997 and 2003 the company merged with two consolidators and in 2005 Archambault started Archway in the same facility of the former Pawtuxet operation. 

Both New England locations will boast the standard clean, modern equipment that is an Academy trademark.  The mainstays of our charter fleet are the 54 seat MCI J-Model and 15 seat Mercedes Mini.  Recently, Academy has added both 38 and 28-seat coaches to the fleet.  All buses come standard with lavatory, DVD player with multiple screens, ample luggage compartments, two – way radios and global positioning satellite for immediate contact between the driver and our dispatch operations center. Additionally Wi-Fi internet access and outlets for computers will become standard on all coaches come September 2010.
