Johns Hopkins University Adds Electric Buses

Electric Fleet Part of University's Sustainability Plan

They're here and they're awesome!

John Hopkins University Transportation Services rolled out their newest vehicle on campus last week.

After years of planning, Johns Hopkins acquired its first 5 electric buses from New Flyer Industries in St. Cloud, Minnesota. The university plans to add 5 more buses in the near future as it moves toward a fully electric fleet, one of the goals of the university's climate and sustainability plan.

Academy was thrilled to collaborate with the university and Maryland Energy Administration on the selection and operation of these buses.

The buses will soon rotate into service along the busy Homewood-Peabody-JHMI route.
